History of Oxalá

For those who don't know, the orixás are African gods that were created with the intention that each one would take care of and preserve every corner of this world. Among all the orixás, Oxalá, also known as Orixalá, was the first to be created and was responsible for the mission of creating the universe, as well as all beings and all things that exist in the world.

In other religions, such as Catholicism, Oxalá is nothing more than a representation of the master Jesus. Oxalá can present two forms: Oxaguiã, representing a young man and Oxalufã, a lord.

Orixalá is a very intelligent and respected orixá since he is the greatest deity of the religion. Nothing goes unnoticed or unnoticed under his eyes. He reigns over all people, represents peace and helps all who need him.

Origin of the bath of Oxalá

It is not known for sure how the first ritual with the bath of Oxalá came about, however, due to the fact that Umbanda and Candomblé are two religions of African origin, it is quite possible that the Africans created this tradition along with the offerings and superstitions of the past. Bathing the gods is a very old ritual that passes down through generations.

What is the bath for?

It is impossible to list just one or two purposes of the bath of Oxalá, an orixá so powerful that he is able to block evil in any and all areas of your life. In general, the bath serves to filter energies and send away the negative ones.

Tips to potentiate the effects of the bath

There are a few tips that can help you enhance the effects of the bath, however, there is a very basic golden tip that is considered a standard in the mystical world. The way the energy of the plant is activated is very important when preparing it.

For example, if the herbs are fresh, the water should ideally be cold or warm, never hot. Conversely, it is also advisable to rub the leaves in a container using cold or warm water until you can extract the broth from the herb.

Another important tip is to connect with nature, ask for permission and be grateful to have the plant at that moment. Before taking the bath, if you let it rest for a few minutes, you are sure to have a much better potency in the result.

Care of the bath procedure

When preparing the bath - be it for Oxalá or any other orixá - it is very important that you be careful. Generally, some herbs are extremely toxic and, because of this, it is necessary to be careful and always wash your hands when coming into contact with them.

Besides, some baths don't allow the head to be washed. Other baths will demand a lot of intuition from you. Follow the guidance of the mediums of the terreiro or center you attend. This way, nothing can go as unplanned.

Boldo bath of Oxalá

Many plants and herbs are used in the preparation of baths in order to take care of our energy. In the case of Boldo, it is considered the mat of Oxalá in Umbanda. This is because its plant contains a large potent amount of energy, which benefits many areas of the body and health.

Importance of Boldo to Oxalá

Among the religions of African matrix, such as Umbanda and Candomblé, boldo is considered the sacred herb of Oxalá. The herb connects the person who uses it with the frequency and vibration of the orixá. This ends up allowing spiritual cleansing and the potentiation of protection.

In addition, Boldo is also responsible for cleansing and enhancing the pineal gland, which is located between the eyes and is associated with mediumship. Because of this, it is extremely important for Orixalá and often used during the preparation of some bath.

Indications and ingredients

The boldo bath can be taken whenever you feel the need, but it would be nice to take it on Fridays, since it is the day of Oxalá. To make the bath you will not need much, just have in hand a handful of boldo leaves (fresh or dried) and a liter of water.

How to do the bath

To prepare the boldo bath, you will have to heat the water. If the leaves are fresh, rub them in the water container and do not allow the temperature to rise too high. Try to leave the water lukewarm or even cold. If the water gets too hot and boils, it will burn the plant.

During the preparation, it is important that you mentalize the desire for protection. After macerating the plant, cover and let the bath rest for about 10 minutes. After that, take it to the bath and when taking the hygiene bath, pour it all over the body.

In the case of dried herbs, the water can be hotter, at the same temperature of preparing a tea.

Oxalá's hominy bath

As with most baths, the main objective of the Oxalá's "canjica de Oxalá" bath is to discharge negative energies, purify and potentiate our energy field.

However, the bath of hominy has a different benefit from other baths, besides providing peace and tranquility, it is widely used to attract great love. To learn more about the bath and how to prepare it, read on!

Importance of canjica for Oxalá

Among the essential elements in the worship of Oxalá is canjica (a kind of cornmeal), which is why it is so important to the orixá. In general, people use it to prepare and offer offerings to Oxalá and, because of this, it becomes a good ally for the famous bath rituals.

Indications and ingredients

The ritual of the bath of hominy serves to open paths and ask for protection from the Orixalá. To prepare the sympathy, you will need to look for some ingredients that, perhaps, you do not have at home, but they are not difficult to find. Have them at hand:

- 1 kg of canjica corn;

- Coconut soap;

- Vegetable loofah;

- A large pot (12L capacity)

- Sugar;

- A 7-day candle in the color white.

How to do the bath

With the canjica corn in hand, try to separate only the good ones, that is, those that are not damaged, with black or yellowish spots. After that, cook them in a large pot with 10L of water.

When you notice that the water is boiling, turn off the heat, remove the water and let it cool down. Bring the corn back to the heat and add enough water to cook it. When it is cooked, let it cool down.

Take the water that you had left to cool down in the first moment and go to the bath. At first, you will take a bath with cold water from the shower. Scrub your whole body with the vegetable scrub and use coconut soap. Lather up your head a lot.

Rinse yourself and, still wet, take the water from the yams and place it near your mouth. Make requests to Oxalá and pour the water over your head. Allow it to wash your entire body. When the bath is finished, wait a little so that you can feel the energy circulating through your body.

Do not dry yourself. When you are dry, opt for light or white clothes. Leave the bathroom, fill a glass with cold water and add plenty of sugar. Place the glass inside a white plate, light the 7-day candle and place it next to the glass somewhere high up in your home.

It is important that the dish is in a place higher than you. After that, say a prayer and offer it to your guardian angel. It's not over yet. At the end, take the cooked hominy and throw the handfuls over your house, asking Oxalá to drive away all evil from the environment and bring harmony, peace, tranquility and whatever else you want.
