What is spiritual unfolding?

Spiritual unfolding is nothing more than the partial and temporary disconnection of the incarnated spirit in relation to the physical body. Most of the times, it happens in an involuntary way during sleep, but it can also be done in a conscious way by mediums with previous study about the subject.

It is often used in mediumistic sessions with the guidance of mentor spirits in disobsession and spiritual rescue works. Once partially disconnected from the physical body, the medium guides suffering spirits giving words of comfort and even performs energetic passes on them.

We emphasize that this article is not intended to initiate or train someone to spiritually unfold, but to deepen the knowledge about what spiritual unfolding is.

The spiritual unfolding is a very serious subject and must be studied with responsibility. We will see below the several references about the subject, as well as the symptoms of those who go through an unfolding, the types that they are seen, the guidelines regarding this practice and common doubts of those who study about the subject.

Spiritual unfolding - references

To really understand what spiritual unfolding is, we first need to understand certain references and terms.

The notion of what the perispirit and the silver cord are, the difference between dream and unfolding and its benefits, as well as the responsibility that involves the practice are premises for those who intend to deepen in the subject.

Deepen with us, in this article, your knowledge about these references and more, such as assisted unfolding, unfolding of the mental body and biblical references about spiritual unfolding.

What is the perispirit?

Once incarnated, the spirit is molded and connected to the physical body. Under this prism, the perispirit is a kind of semi-material or fluidic envelope, giving shape to the spirit and also having the function of connecting it to the physical body throughout the individual's life.

The perispirit and the carnal body have the same origin: the universal fluid, but in different vibrational ranges. The body being in a lower range of vibration of matter and the perispirit being in a higher and more ethereal frequency.

The physical body and perispirit are coexistent and are in constant synergy. They are responsible for biological, psychiatric and pathological processes.

The degree of volatility of the perispirit and its ability to detach itself from the physical body depends on the degree of evolution and knowledge of each individual.

What is the silver cord?

Silver Cord is the term used to describe the link between the physical body and the spirit. It is the line of energy that, during unfolding, keeps body and soul connected.

The visualization of this energy cord depends a lot on its density and the distance the spirit is projected. This cord is formed by the confluence of several energy filaments spread throughout the body that, in the unfolding, form one.

The silver cord and its definition is a point of convergence in various cultures and religions that recognize and study spiritual unfoldment.

Difference between dream and unfolding

The difference between dream and unfolding is that the dream originates from physiological processes of the subconscious and the unfolding does not. For this reason, dreams are generally confusing and most of the times without logic or rationality.

In the unfoldment, the spirit enters in a band of super-consciousness and the clarity is infinitely greater than a mere dream. When projecting out of the material body, the spirit will have a clear and vivid memory of the places it has visited or of disincarnate individuals it has met.

There are reports of mediums who, when unfolding, are able to notice the clearest and smallest details of the spiritual plane.

There is a great deal of discussion about the differentiation between dreams and unfoldings, but those who study and develop this technique find no difficulty in making this distinction.

Benefits of Deployment

The main benefit of the unfolding is the clarity achieved by the spirit once it is partially disconnected from the material body. It is in these unfoldings that important instructions are passed on by mentor spirits and it is where the meetings with disincarnate loved ones take place.

Even not having knowledge about the unfolding, all incarnated souls do it, each one remembering more or less the experiences depending on the degree of knowledge and evolution of each one.

Besides, it is through the unfolding that treatments are performed in the spiritual plane, helping in both physiological and spiritual cures. Through the unfolding we have the condition to better understand what the spiritual world really is and, with responsibility and study, use it for light-oriented works.

Responsibility

The responsibility for the spiritual unfolding is related to the intention of the person who practices it. If the intention is for good and to help others, good energies and entities will be attracted and help in the process.

But if the intention is to benefit themselves or use the unfolding as a way to obtain information for evil, entities of lower vibration will approach, what can even result in obsessive processes.

Once detached from the body, the spirit shows all its essence and cannot hide its intentions. When entering the studies of the practice of spiritual unfolding, we must necessarily remain in the purest intention turned to the good, to the respect for the mentor spirits and the incarnate mediums who assist us during the practices.

Extraphysical euphoria

One of the sensations often described by those who unfold is extraphysical euphoria. The sensation of lightness and peace that unfolding brings causes an indescribable feeling of freedom.

Being free from bodily "prison" and all that it entails physiologically, plus clarity of consciousness, can be one of the most significant experiences in a person's life.

Many people have this experience without even realizing it and attribute it to dreams in which they are flying through the clouds, waking up afterwards in complete joy and peace. These are remnants of the unconscious unfolding.

Assisted deployment

Because it is a technique that demands responsibility, study and practice, the conscious unfoldings are mostly assisted. Once identified the facility of an individual to unfold, and if he demonstrates good intention and good will, the help will come.

In mediumistic sessions, assisted exercises are performed, in which the person learns to better control the experience of unfolding. Both incarnate and discarnate people participate, assisting and guiding the projector in the spiritual plane and in works aimed at helping others.

In non-conscious unfoldings there is also the help of benevolent entities that discreetly guide and protect us during the experience without us noticing.

Unfolding of the mental body

The definition of mental body is the way our consciousness expresses itself by connecting with the astral body. It would be the consciousness separated from both the physical body and the perispirit.

The connection between the mental body and the perispirit is called the golden cord and the unfolding of that mental body happens when the consciousness is projected individually, while the perispirit is still inside the physical body.

There are two forms in which the mental body, or the consciousness, detaches itself. In the first, it unfolds together with the perispirite. In the second, it projects itself outside the perispirite, which remains floating in the vicinity or at some point of the spiritual plane.

Biblical references on spiritual unfolding

There are several significant biblical references about spiritual unfolding. Even though the main Christian religions are based on the scriptures, such references are mostly disregarded or not deepened.

Paul of Tarsus, one of the most influential preachers of Christianity and a significant redactor of the new testament, said in Corinthians 12: 1-4, "I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago (whether in the body, I do not know; whether out of the body, I do not know; God knows) was caught up into the third heaven. And I know that such a man (whether in the body, or out of the body, I do not know; God knows) was caught up into paradise; and he heard wordswhich it is not lawful for man to speak.

Another important reference on spiritual unfolding in the Bible is in the book of Ecclesiastes, Chapter 12, verse 6: "either the silver cord will be loosed or the gold vessel will be broken". It is interpreted, in this case, as the power of God that unites body and soul.

Spiritual unfoldment - symptoms

One way to identify whether a deployment has occurred is through the physical symptoms that they bring. The experience of detachment reflects specific physiological sensations that should not be viewed with fear, but rather as signs that a deployment has occurred.

These symptoms also help to discern if the experience was merely a dream originating from the subconscious mind or if in fact a spiritual unfolding has taken place.

We will look below at such symptoms as the sensation of inflating, intracranial popping, catalepsy, and dislocation sensation. Another commonly described feature is the false-fall sensation, which we will also look at below.

Sensation of inflating

It is considered a common symptom during a spiritual unfolding. It happens because the body feels the perispirit moving in all directions, which causes the sensation of inflating.

Because they are in different vibrational bands, body and spirit have different material properties, and when unfolding they cause physiological sensations.

Sensation of intracranial popping

When it is partially disconnected, the perispirit remains connected to the physical body through several energetic strands that, when they are united, form what we call the silver cord.

When these bonds formed extend or slacken before they unite to form one, snaps may be heard in the brain of the perispirit.

This sensation is commonly reported during the exit or entry of the spirit body into the physical body, and may resemble either popping, whistling or humming.

Catalepsy

Catalepsy is also described as one of the most common symptoms of a deployment, and in situations where the person is unaware of it, it can be frightening.

This occurs because, when returning to the physical body, the consciousness awakens before the perispirit is properly positioned. It is described as a total paralysis of the body, making any movement or action impossible, except the thought. If this happens to you, calm down and wait a few seconds, because soon everything will return to normal.

Sensation of displacement

It occurs when the brain awakens before the perispirit and is very common in the return from a spiritual unfolding. It causes a sinking sensation if the person is lying down, but it passes in a few seconds.

When the medium is already properly trained, he/she can perform a partial and conscious displacement, in which his/her perispirit stays close to the body. In this way, works of semi-incorporation and psychography under the influence of mentor spirits are performed.

Feeling of false fall

It is the most common of the symptoms, virtually every incarnate person has experienced the feeling of false fall once in their life.

The brain has a tendency to remain in a state of alert, especially in the first hours of physical sleep, being a primary protective mechanism.

In this way, when the perispirit begins the unfolding process, the brain, upon noticing the relaxation of the spiritual fluids, goes into a state of alert, awakening the individual and causing the sensation of false fall.

Types of spiritual unfolding

The concept of spiritual unfolding goes through several types that go according to the knowledge and spiritual capacity of each person.

These different ways in which spiritual unfolding can take place vary as to whether it is conscious or unconscious, voluntary or provoked. There are also those unfoldings with lethargic or cataleptic emancipation. We will now examine each of these types of unfolding and how they function.

Conscious Spiritual Unfolding

It is the unfolding in which the person is fully aware of what is happening. Those who have this type of unfolding can remember the smallest details and it is usually achieved by people with greater experience in spiritual projections.

The person is even aware of the moment when he/she leaves the body, being able to visualize the sleeping body. It brings a sensation of lightness and, when returning to the body, the individual is able to have a full and vivid memory of all the time spent unfolded.

Unconscious spiritual unfolding

When the unfolding happens unconsciously, almost nothing of the experience is clearly remembered. The individual will have a vague recollection or only an intimate suggestion through intuition of what happened during the unfolding.

It generally occurs with people who have no knowledge or study on the subject. Therefore, if you have awakened with a strong intuition on some subject, it is very likely that you have undergone an unconscious unfolding in which instructions were transmitted to you by your spirit mentors.

Voluntary Spiritual Unfolding

It is the unfolding that is induced by the individual who can use techniques and support from spirit mentors for this.

In general, this type of unfolding is achieved by those who have been studying and practicing it for a long time, reaching a state of mental and spiritual control that allows the voluntariness of projecting oneself to the astral plane.

The memories of a voluntary unfoldment may not be complete, because, when returning to the physical body, the difference of vibration between the two bodies (carnal and perispirite) may result in partial loss of the memories of the experience.

Spiritual unfolding provoked

These are the unfoldings that are provoked or initiated by other entities, either incarnate mediums or disincarnate spiritual mentors.

By means of magnetic and hypnotic processes it is provoked in the person the displacement of the ethereal body in relation to the physical one.

Spirits oriented to works of light can provoke the unfolding of an individual so that he can perform works oriented to good. On the other hand, entities oriented to evil can also initiate the unfolding of an incarnate with the intention of taking possession of him or cause damage to his perispirit and physical body.

Spiritual unfolding with lethargic emancipation

This type of unfolding may be caused by spiritual or physical conditions. It occurs when the energetic or fluidic bonds of the perispirit in relation to the physical body are still very light, and it happens, generally, when the spirit is still partially out of the body.

It causes a generalized lethargy of the carnal body making the individual, for a brief moment, unable to perform physical movements or to feel any sensation whatsoever, even though the physical body is in full and total functioning.

The most striking feature in unfolding with lethargic emancipation is that there is a generalized flaccidity of all the limbs of the body.

Spiritual unfolding with cataleptic emancipation

The unfolding with cataleptic emancipation also originates from the partial detachment of the perispirite. There is a temporary loss of bodily sensibility, but there is rigidity in the body members, and consciousness manifests in this type of unfolding.

Unlike lethargic emancipation, cataleptic emancipation is usually located in parts of the body where the spiritual fluids are weaker. Thus, there is greater control of movement in general.

Spiritual unfolding - guidelines

For those who seek to understand about spiritual unfolding in order to practice it, the primary orientation is that the intention must always be directed towards the good.

Respect for the good spirits, incarnate and disincarnate, who help in the process, as well as common sense on the part of those who enter this technique, is also a premise of those who aim to study and practice the unfolding.

We follow with more guidance on spiritual unfolding and its relationship to music, to food and how it relates to drug use and what that implies to the individual.

Unfolding and music

One of the ways to achieve the relaxation and concentration that allow the unfolding is the use of music. In general, sound has vibrational properties that on the physical plane are capable of reorganizing the molecular state of matter, and in the energetic realm it is no different.

Certain melodies or music reach vibrational ranges that stimulate the brain to emit alpha waves that are related to creativity and expansion of consciousness. In this way, music, if used properly, can be a facilitator of spiritual unfolding.

Deployment and feeding

As for food, the influence on the unfolding occurs through digestion processes that may hinder the displacement of the perispirit in relation to the physical body.

Generally, hours before the deployment, one should avoid consuming food, which is digested slowly. If the physical body is still working on the digestion of food, the bodily energies may have difficulty detaching from the perispirit to allow the deployment.

When performing a deployment, try to avoid eating solid food at least two hours before the process, giving preference to liquids, for example.

Deployment and drugs

Certain types of psychoactive substances can trigger an involuntary unfolding. There are reports, for example, of people who, when undergoing surgery, end up unfolding due to the effect of drugs used in anesthesia.

The effect of certain substances acts at the cerebral level, causing the activity of the consciousness to fall, thus causing the displacement of the perispirit.

Extreme caution should be taken regarding the use of drugs in relation to the unfolding, because the use of these drugs ends up attracting spiritual entities addicted to the energy that these substances emanate.

Such spirits can take advantage of the unfolding with the intention of vampirizing the individual, resulting in destructive obsessive processes.

Spiritual unfolding - common questions

Although it is known by several religions and cultures, even being quoted in the Bible, the spiritual unfolding still generates many doubts.

Although it is a serious and complex subject, some questions about this capacity that all human beings have, which is to separate, in a partial way, from the physical body, are common.

We shall see next whether a spirit can become trapped when he is unfolded, and whether he feels if anything happens to his physical body during unfoldment.

Can a spirit be trapped when he is unfolded?

Because it is a process considered more physiological than physical, being related to bodily sleep, getting stuck while unfolded is impossible under normal circumstances. However, if the physical body goes into a coma or other similar pathological state, it could occur.

What can happen is a certain difficulty to return to the physical body, mainly when a spontaneous and involuntary unfolding occurs. By not knowing what is happening, the person elevates the stress level, which delays the return.

If this occurs, try to stay calm, focusing on breathing, and so the return will be brief and smooth.

Does the spirit feel if something happens to the body during the unfolding?

No matter how far away the perispirit is projected, whether consciously or unconsciously, the brain functions remain active in the physical body. Thus, the primitive protection mechanisms of the human being keep watch over the body, awakening it at the slightest sign of danger sensed by the nervous system.

If any disturbing noise or any other kind of signal alerts your brain, the unfolding is immediately terminated and the individual wakes up in the physical body.

These protective mechanisms are human nature and have been honed over thousands of years of evolution.

Can spiritual unfolding help solve problems?

When studying the unfolding we must always take into account that, besides being accessible to all human beings, it must necessarily be faced with the intention turned to good.

Starting from this premise, we can better explore the potentials of this capacity used by the most diverse cultures and religions, without ever having as an objective the harm or as a way to obtain advantages for oneself.

Unfolding can have immeasurable significance for spiritual evolution, not just for the simple resolution of mundane problems.

If you are interested in delving into the mysteries of spiritual unfoldment, take it easy and seek intimately to dispose yourself primarily to a purpose greater than your individuality and your personal problems.

As for specific problems, the unfoldment can help you solve them, either through the guidance of higher spirits, or through healing processes performed on the astral plane, once you are in the unfoldment.
